Class Action

We are one of the few firms in Montana with experience regularly representing clients in class action matters. Class actions are cases utilizing a legal procedure where a court can appoint a “representative plaintiff” to stand in for a larger class of similarly situated people who have been harmed in the same manner as the representative plaintiff.  Class actions can be a powerful tool to obtain legal relief for individuals where relief otherwise may not be available due to factors such as cost barriers resulting from a small amount of financial loss that impacts a large class of people. The converse of this is that class actions can place defendants at risk of catastrophic loss, where competent, experienced counsel is especially necessary.

The firm has represented both plaintiffs and defendants in a wide variety of cases, ranging from oil and gas matters, to employment cases, to consumer protection cases.
