The firm regularly advises clients and litigates matters relating to oil and gas rights.  We represent royalty owners, owners of working interests, surface owners, and governmental entities. Our work includes transactional and litigation matters including leasing, surface use agreements, royalty payment issues, environmental damage matters, lease covenant breaches, and lease forfeitures. The firm has represented clients before state administrative agencies, and state and federal courts. The firm also has significant experience working with state and federal regulators. It has utilized class actions in litigating on behalf of owners in this area. In addition to its practice, members of the firm own producing mineral interests in North Dakota.
